Web Design, Theory 101

In the modern world we live in today and specifically in relationship to how we view things and interact with them via the Internet, has become a daunting task for those of us who constantly look for new and improved ways to maximize your experience as well as how easily it is to locate the information and products that you are seeking.

Many have come up to the false impression and conclusion that web design is merely about the graphics along with a few words to accompany them.  However, this could not be further from the truth.  The behind the scenes coding and information process is one that we as developers must stay on top of and is a daily learning activity for many of us.

With such giants as Google, Yahoo and others who try to sell you on Ad-Words or targeted Keywords utilized in providing you with a greater ranking just drives the little man in the web design world harder to be able to maintain their client base and continue to provide a level of service that surpasses any level of their competition.  If you have ever wondered why many web designers usually end up going bald or nearly blind all you have to do when visiting any website is to click in your browser to view the source and you will begin to have a mere inclination of what we look at for hours upon hours to bring your web viewing experience to a greater achieved level.

For some time now many have thought that the entire Dot Com era has come to and end and especially regarding new start up business' that usually produce their materials and focused efforts into the Internet.  Obviously that could not be further from the truth.

As we have entered into a new generation it has been proven that many people have chosen to turn their primary methods of communications and existing activities such as shopping, banking and other daily tasks to being able to perform from the comfort of their own home via the world wide web.

Many of the sites that most of frequent on a daily basis such as Google, Yahoo, Facebook and other unique and diverse sites take millions of hits and uses each and every day.  Obviously, this requires a great level of sponsorship in the realm of finances.  This is why you see more and more leaning toward sponsored ads and thus a primary source of many of these giants source of profitable income.  In a world that is now packed full of smart phones and pda's it is a web developers paradise and an open opportunity to bring yourself and your either corporate or personal presence back to the Internet.  Statistically it has been proven that the average owner of a smart phone spends nearly 3.5 hours per day conducting activity that involves the Internet and obtaining or sending information via those devices.  So it goes without saying that the flow of traffic on the web has increased nearly 78% from what it was in previous years prior to the introduction of these wonderful items.

Success of new and emerging web sites is based upon the overall engineering and design of the site.  Besides some fancy graphics and elegant words to accompany them requires selective keyword structuring tailored specific to that of your product or corporate branding.

Not only is the proper selection of keywords a large and daunting task but ensuring that they are tied in to every aspect of the overall design of a site goes a long way to ensure the success of any quality site.  I can take even the smallest business or personal site and take them straight to the top.  However, with that being said, a successful website must continue to be monitored and frequently updated in order to ensure that they maintain their search rankings through a variety of search engines.  There are many theories and noted practices that are sought out but only a few time tested methods that still continue to be successful in the show down of moder web design theory.

Even sites that may only consist of a couple of pages can be an endeavor and no small undertaking by any means.  This all being said and noted those of us who continue our pursuit of design excellence and quality know that it is our love of the art that drives us to achieve success for both our clients as well as our own set of standards that usually are set at levels most would not dream of.  When seeking out a potential designer for your next site or project, the size of the company is not as important as to what level of personalization you will receive.  Often times it is better to seek out a smaller company or even one talented individual that can provide you with that personalized one on one attention who will be attentive to the detail that you are looking for and deserve.  Some of the largest websites know to many people were developed by a team of just a select few individuals and then combined into the final project.
